Bailei and Joshua’s wedding was a celebration not only of their love, but of heritage, style, and the joy of bringing everyone they love into one beautifully designed weekend. The couple, based in America, travelled to the UK to for a quintessentially English celebration. Held at the grand Tortworth Court, their day combined classic British charm with modern romance.

From the very beginning, the couple wanted their guests, many of whom had flown over from the states, to feel fully immersed in the English countryside, with thoughtful touches throughout. It was an opportunity to celebrate, connect, and create something truly unforgettable. Working with the wonderful Lauren from Bluebird Creative, we created a stationery suite that set the tone from the start.

A Design That Set the Scene

Bailei & Joshua’s aesthetic was modern, enchanting, and classically British, imagine a modern-day Bridgerton, with soft structure, pale hues, and an undeniable sense of romance. Every paper piece played into that feeling, designed to echo the traditional charm of the venue with a modern, design-led edge.

The stationery suite began with a bespoke invitation design featuring a soft blue and white venue illustration, custom monogram, and a vintage-inspired die-cut frame shape. It was the couple’s “something blue,” and it couldn’t have been more fitting.

We carried the shape through the entire design story, from escort cards with tassels suspended from an elegant arched display, to the double-layered menus with a vellum overlay and gold tassel, featuring guest names inked by hand in delicate calligraphy.

For the wedding weekend, we also designed:

Rehearsal dinner menus and place names with playful stripes and relaxed calligraphy

3D textured canvas table numbers

Custom pattern featured on the backdrops, signage and bar details to tie everything together with intention and elegance

A Favourite Detail

I absolutely loved that the stationery became their “something blue.” The double layered vellum menus finished with the guests’ names inked in gold calligraphy and gold tassel that hung down off the plate. Guests adored the escort card display too, each card shaped to the vintage frame shape and finished with a tassel, turning what’s usually a simple signpost into a statement design moment.

The Emotional Layer

For Bailei & Joshua, it was about more than aesthetics. It was about creating an environment where their guests could fully exhale, connect, and make memories. The stationery helped carry that feeling throughout the weekend, setting the tone for each event and adding layers of detail that made guests feel truly part of something special.
