I adore weddings that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Classic, romantic, old-fashioned – you can practically picture it.
Luckily, I didn’t have to imagine it. I was a part of it.
On 22nd March, at The Landmark London in the heart of Marylebone, Katie and Sean celebrated their love story in the most timeless way. Black-tie elegance, ivory florals, and a sense of occasion made everyone feel like we’d entered a different era.
Their wedding was undeniably formal and luxurious, but the focus and vision were clear. Katie and Sean wanted their celebration to feel refined, romantic, and completely immersive, with every detail contributing to the world they were creating. Naturally, the stationery needed to sit beautifully within it.
A Timeless London Wedding
The grand Landmark London was the perfect setting for Katie and Sean. The striking interiors and architecture made this celebration feel massive, while still allowing the details to stay in the spotlight.
Planning-wise, the couple was in safe hands. Emily Charlotte Weddings led the entire celebration marvelously, giving Katie and Sean the space and time to truly savour every moment of this milestone. Working with her was an absolute pleasure as we both valued the finer details and understood the role they played in bringing the wider vision to life.
The styling, featuring a restrained palette of ivory, cream, black, and gold, shone once the Sunday Floral Studio filled the space with reflexed roses and calla lilies. The florals brought everything together, creating the perfect balance.
Simply, this Landmark London wedding felt traditional, with a very current sense of polish.
Why This Wedding Felt So Special
What truly set Victoria and Andrew’s wedding apart was them. They are two of the kindest, most thoughtful people, and their warmth radiated throughout the entire weekend. You could see their love for each other in every moment of their wedding day, the way they looked at one another, how present they were, and the ease they brought to everyone around them.
I first met Victoria and Andrew at a Bodleian wedding showcase, where they introduced themselves and Andrew pulled out a notebook, flipping straight to a page filled with stationery notes. They had clearly spent time exploring my website and arrived knowing exactly how much they valued this part of their wedding story. They were an absolute joy to work with and I am truly honoured to have been apart of their supplier team that brought the day to life.
The Story Behind The Stationery
For Katie and Sean’s wedding stationery, I was deeply inspired by the old-money aesthetic. I paired an elegant script with a modern serif, while keeping the palette neutral with strong black accents.
The design process felt effortless, with their vision brought to life in the very first design. From there, only minor refinements were needed to elevate the finished stationery and perfect every detail.
I created a bespoke shelved table plan, an arched freestanding welcome sign, double-layered menus, oval place names adorned with nude silk bows, and marble acrylic table numbers.
Still, the highlights of this old-money wedding stationery were the menus and bowed place cards. Romantic, refined, and quietly luxurious, these elements perfectly captured what Katie and Sean desired to create.
Luxury Details
As part of my on-the-day service, I personally set up the stationery at this Landmark London wedding. Being on site allowed me to ensure every finer detail was perfectly placed and handled with the highest level of care, so the stationery became part of the timeless styling rather than simply being placed on top of it.
Each menu was personalised with the guest’s meal choice and dietary requirements, placed on gorgeous gold-rimmed chargers, provided by Options Great Hire. The chargers’ gold accent was continued through the rest of the table elements, creating a carefully planned cohesion. Lastly, the place names were placed separately, so there was plenty of organisation happening behind the scenes.
However, what truly brought the tablescape and stationery together was the floral design and candlelight. The candles introduced a sense of intimacy and warmth to the vast ballroom, while every element blended so naturally that guests stopped to admire it before taking their seats.
Once I saw this, I knew we achieved exactly what Katie and Sean wanted.
An Old-Fashioned Love Story
When I look back on Katie and Sean’s classic London wedding, I’ll always remember the sense of romance in the air.
The details, carefully considered, yet effortless. The flowers, stationery, tablescapes, and fashion created a world of their own, with the couple being the centre of it.
Undoubtedly, this celebration was one for the books.
