Victoria and Andrew’s late-summer celebration on 23rd August 2025 at The Bodleian was an elegant and romantic affair with heartfelt details at every turn. Returning to Oxford, the city where they first met while studying at Oxford university, they chose to celebrate across some of its most historic spaces, beginning with a ceremony at Convocation House, followed by champagne and canapés in the Claredon Quad, and an unforgettable evening of dining and dancing beneath the vaulted ceilings of the Divinity School. With effortless on-the-day coordination by Occasion Queens, exquisite catering by Oxford Fine Dining, and the day captured so beautifully by Weddings by Nicola & Glen, whose luxurious yet laid-back style felt perfectly suited to Victoria and Andrew. Their wedding unfolded with an effortless sense of ease. A soft palette of sage and blush ran throughout the day, accented with warm gold tones in the stationery, while delicate blue florals were woven through the arrangements as Victoria’s something blue.
A Weekend of Celebration in Oxford
The celebrations began the evening before the wedding with welcome drinks at Turf Tavern, a relaxed welcome for their guests, that set the tone for the weekend. It was the perfect way for guests to gather and soak up the charm of Oxford before the day ahead.
On Saturday, guests arrived at Convocation House for a 4pm ceremony that was beautiful and deeply moving. Following the ceremony, champagne flowed as a string quartet played in the quad, with guests enjoying canapés in the warm August light. As evening fell, everyone moved through to the Divinity School, where round tables, candlelight, and beautiful florals transformed the historic space into an unforgettable setting for dinner and dancing. The weekend concluded on Sunday with a farewell brunch at The Store, allowing time for one last moment together before guests made their journeys home.
Why This Wedding Felt So Special
What truly set Victoria and Andrew’s wedding apart was them. They are two of the kindest, most thoughtful people, and their warmth radiated throughout the entire weekend. You could see their love for each other in every moment of their wedding day, the way they looked at one another, how present they were, and the ease they brought to everyone around them.
I first met Victoria and Andrew at a Bodleian wedding showcase, where they introduced themselves and Andrew pulled out a notebook, flipping straight to a page filled with stationery notes. They had clearly spent time exploring my website and arrived knowing exactly how much they valued this part of their wedding story. They were an absolute joy to work with and I am truly honoured to have been apart of their supplier team that brought the day to life.
The Stationery Journey
I worked with Victoria and Andrew from their Save the Dates right through to their on-the-day stationery, creating a cohesive suite that evolved alongside their plans. For the design, we combined the Fleur and Venue suites from the House Collection, bringing together romantic florals and architectural details that felt perfectly suited to Oxford to create wedding stationery that were traditional and romantic.
The stationery included digital printed Save the Dates, hot-foiled wedding invitations with details cards, luxe card mounted to thick board for the welcome sign and table plan, menus, handmade paper table names styled with books and their favourite quotes, and smaller pieces of signage such as bar menus.
One standout detail was the bookmark place cards, a firm favourite with my Bodleian couples. With both Victoria and Andrew loving books and reading, and their wedding at the Bodleian Libraries, it felt like an obvious choice. Printed on luxury 600gsm ivory textured card, each bookmark featured an illustration of the Wren Door, guests’ names in gold calligraphy, their monogram on the reverse, and was finished with a gold tassel.
The Story Behind the Design
Oxford was at the heart of the stationery design. It’s the city where Victoria and Andrew met while studying at Keble College, and they even reserved rooms there for their guests, a thoughtful detail that reflected their care for everyone attending.
Their chosen colour palette of soft blush, sage green, and warm gold accents ran throughout the stationery, echoing their florals and tying everything together beautifully.
Moments That Stayed With Me
One of my favourite moments was their ceremony, led by Love Celebrants, which wove together traditions from Victoria’s Argentinian background and Andrew’s Scottish heritage, including hand fasting. It felt personal, meaningful, and deeply reflective of who they are.
What truly stopped me in my tracks was the attention to detail across the entire day. Victoria and Andrew planned their wedding themselves, with Occasion Queens supporting on the day, and you could feel their presence behind every decision, everything was done with intention and was perfect.
The stationery sat effortlessly within the wider tablescape. Florals by Sarah Harper Flowers mirrored the illustrated blooms from the Fleur suite, and even echoed the delicate floral detailing on Victoria’s Suzanne Neville gown.
A Wedding Rooted in Place
For Victoria and Andrew, returning to Oxford, felt like the perfect full-circle moment. Their wedding wasn’t just a celebration; it was a love letter to where their story began, told through thoughtful details, layered design, and moments that will linger long after the day itself.
Elegant, heartfelt, and romantic, exactly as it should be.
